With just under one week until the expedition begins I've now finished school visits around our Tasmanian based students that are getting ready for the expedition. The photos show some of the schools who are on the expedition, with the students doing their best shy albatross impressions. These brave albatross are from Ulverstone, Rosebery, Taroona, Newstead, Smithton and Margate, Sorell, Austins Ferry, Landsdowne Crescent, Montagu Bay, Campbell Street, Youngtown and Penguin (yes that's the name of a town and school!). If you are joining the expedition from anywhere else around Australia and would like your class photo in here, just email it to me: andrew@expeditionclass.com.
The main job now is to get the sea kayak and other equipment ready for a month on the water in Bass Strait. Our friends at Sea to Summit are sending down a last minute battery/solar kit to keep the computer and other electronic gear charged up for the month away. Each day during the journey I'll highlight a different piece of equipment.
