Saturday has been even lazier than Friday. My activity is inversely proportional to wind speed. To put it another way, the windier it gets the more I sleep during the day. But I do have an update on the pumice from UTAS volcanologist Dr Rebecca Carey. She reckons it's probably either from McDonald Island area (near Heard Island in the Southern Ocean), or Havre underwater volcano north of New Zealand. I'll take a sample home and Dr Rebecca will use geochemistry magic to try and solve the mystery.

Pumice Update
A gale blew up the channel today so I trooped over the hill to John and Bev's for a chat and to borrow some more books. "Is the library open Bev?".
There looks to be a narrow good weather window from tomorrow until Wednesday to get out to Albatross Island and around Hunter Island. I'll make a dawn or predawn start tomorrow and assess it on the water.
