There is a photo here of a piece of half buried seaweed that the strong wind has been blowing on the wet sand. It created a neat circle and made me wonder where other shapes either grow or are formed in nature? I've landed at Shepherd's Bay near the top of Hunter Island. The wind is strong and with the sail up I surfed up the coast at great speed. Sometimes without paddling I was being pushed down the small waves and surfing. The only problem is that I didn't have to paddle much and became cold to the very core. After quickly setting up camp in the dense tea tree forest I washed the salt from me and ran up and down the beach to warm up. It did a good job but I still decided to jump into the sleeping bag for extra warmth. Later, on the beach I found one full starfish and one piece of a starfish. The piece, or leg, is from a different species and, you can see from the size of my hand, very long. They must have blown ashore on the strong wind.

The bay of stars
I've also received news that the expedition students are coming over to join me on Three Hummock Island a day early so they get a better run in the boat. It means I'll spend the day exploring here tomorrow and make a dash for Three Hummock on Saturday.
