It's almost the end of the solo part of the expedition as I've arrived back on Three Hummock Island to await the student team. It was a short crossing of Hope Channel with the sail up. Bev spotted me from the managers house and snapped a distant photo as I sailed into the jetty. John and Bev came down on the quad bike with a trailer to help with the gear. I'm trading in a tent for the Homestead as the expedition enters part 2. We could even give it a different name, like 'Student Survival... Or Not.' Only joking concerned parents, I hear they are going to attempt the boat crossing from Woolnorth tomorrow morning. With a windy forecast its still not certain they'll arrive. I really hope they do because my food bag is desperately boring now. Just a half bag of rolled oats, a few tablespoons of milk powder, a tin of sardines, two handfuls of pasta and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I'm sure John and Bev would save me if needed but they have to look after themselves out here. It can be months between excursions to the supermarket!
