We started off the morning leaving Tuk’s and Tamari’s house in Wainikai on a canoe bound for Waibogi Wainadiro Primary School to start our presentation. There we sang songs, conducted circuit races and donated school, medical and renewable energy supplies. The Fijian Higher Education Commission (FHEC) sent three officials to see our renewable energy program. We are very impressed that one of them (Jo) knew our Fiji Power song and could play it on the guitar! The FHEC are starting certificates in renewable energy and are interested in Bookend Trust help to develop some learning materials.
After our presentation we joined the locals for their flamboyant 10th aniversary celebrations. Here we had a great time dancing to very loud music, having a sip of kava, having powder poured all over us and eating way too much food with many amazing people. As part of this there was a sevu sevu, which David (Tevita) and the FHEC officals took part in.
