Today I packed up and hit the road from Hollybank Forest Reserve to the wild west coast of Tasmania. We're on the way from the dry eucalyptus forest to the temperate rainforest of the Tarkine. Apart from lots of driving I don't have anything exciting to report so it's a good chance to look back on the week. It's always good to hear what interests you (the students) during these adventures so if you get a chance over the weekend, let it rip. The photos here are mostly unpublished from throughout the week and in no particular order.
But there was one exciting Tree House event on today. Kara (pictured) and Hannah were down at the Festival of Bright Ideas in Hobart. Kara reports: "At our activity 200 students from 9 schools learnt about things you'd find in a dry forest and how to tie a reef knot and a figure 8 knot which Andrew needs to climb those huge trees safely and not fall out! There were great questions about our mystery objects - insect eggs, spider exoskeleton and fur we have here.
They saw how high the tree house was at 15m... near the top of the PW1 shed!"
